Vitosha district is located in the southern part of Sofia. A variety of hotels in Vitosha may be found at the foot of the same-named mountain. Even though it’s not the very heart of the city, there’s a number of famous Bulgarian landmarks to be explored. During the Communist regime, governmental buildings were constructed which are used to date for some important international events. You’ll also be close to such sights as Botanical gardens–a nice area to stroll with your family, the Dragalevsky Monastery, and Boyana Church Museum. The last one is on the list of UNESCO’s world heritage landmarks. For history lovers, there’s the National Museum of History to be explored.
